Dancing Qigong

Weekend workshops with Milan Kozánek in Bratislava (SK)
17th-18th of October 2026_autumn edition
12th-13th of December 2026_winter edition

If you are interested in Taoist philosophy and enjoy movement, this seminar will connect the both, to allowing you to embody Taoist philosophy. Through movement, we will apply the principles of yin-yang, which exist within the body, on its surface, and even around us. This practice can by as a preparation for working with form, such as Qi Gong and Tai Chi Chuan. It will be a focused practice based on the natural structure of the body, such as the spine, joints, the two main centres of gravity, or the energetic centres known as the Tan Tiens. Cultivating body awareness and consciously connecting physical movement with the energy of Qi. We will explore these movement exercises both individually and in partner work.
The workshop is also suitable for people without prior movement experience or experience with Qi Gong.

Autumn Edition

The autumn edition of Dancing Qigong will focus on the phase of energy and movement returning to our centre. We will observe and support the moment when movement naturally returns inward; developing softness and fluidity, and consciously connecting movement with the breath, thereby supporting the energy of the lungs and the body’s natural defences.

We will also activate the qualities of the SNAKE, which symbolises inner transformation, the ability to shed its old skin, let go of what has served its purpose, and be reborn anew. In connection with the element of METAL, it brings the theme of release and letting go: allowing what no longer serves us to leave and creating space for a new breath of life.

The movement of the snake is naturally wave-like, fluid and connected to the Earth. Through it, we will awaken and circulate qi into the deeper layers of the body.

Winter Edition

The winter edition of Dancing Qigong will take you through qigong and movement into the depths of the body and inner stillness. We will focus on the kidneys – the root of our vitality, and explore the quality of slow, conscious movement, with attention to inner space, the bones and joints – the support and structure of our body.

Through movement and breath, we will cultivate the principle of wu weinon-doing within doing, or doing within non-doing – and return to our centre, to grounding and to the ability to simply rest within ourselves.

We will also activate the qualities of the TURTLE, which embodies calmness, stability, patience and inner strength. Its movement is slow, peaceful and deliberate. It arises from the Earth and is therefore deeply rooted, while at the same time carrying the qualities of WATER – flow, adaptability and the ability to find its way without the need to overcome obstacles through force.
