Dancing Qigong

Weekend workshops with Milan Kozánek in Bratislava (SK)
11th-12th of April 2026_spring edotion
13th-14th of June 2026_summer edition

If you are interested in Taoist philosophy and enjoy movement, this seminar will connect the both, to allowing you to embody Taoist philosophy. Through movement, we will apply the principles of yin-yang, which exist within the body, on its surface, and even around us. This practice can by as a preparation for working with form, such as Qi Gong and Tai Chi Chuan. It will be a focused practice based on the natural structure of the body, such as the spine, joints, the two main centres of gravity, or the energetic centres known as the Tan Tiens. Cultivating body awareness and consciously connecting physical movement with the energy of Qi. We will explore these movement exercises both individually and in partner work.
The workshop is also suitable for people without prior movement experience or experience with Qi Gong.

The spring edition of Dancing Qigong will focus on working with joints, the spine, on the flexibility and elasticity of tendons, movement and also the mind. We will be more attentive to the initial impulses from the inside out – this movement arises naturally in the spring phase. What has accumulated inside begins to manifest itself externally. We will activate movement the body and stir up the energy of the Dragon, which is represented by the spine in the human body. The Dragon’s movement is naturally wavy and connected to Heaven. This will spread the Qi energy into all structures of the body.

The summer edition of Dancing Qigong will be dedicated to strong yang energy – the phase of the year when yang reaches its peak. Summer is a time of expansion, movement, joy and openness. However, it is precisely at the time of maximum yang that it is important to learn to consciously ground, cool and harmonize this force. We will work with the conscious withdraw of yang energy into the lower tan-tien and into the Earth. We will focus on the chest center (middle tan-tien), the upper center of gravity of the body and its connection with the lower center of stability. In practice, this means finding balance – energeticaly and physicaly. We activate the quality of the Crane – lightness, alertness and inner stability. Through standing on one leg, we will awaken deep inner work with stability, rootedness and gentle strength.
