Dance in the Five Phases of Energy_Intensive
A 5–7 day intensive seminar, suitable for educational institutions and professional or amateur dance and theatre ensembles. It offers a deep and focused immersion into the theory of the five phases (elements) of Chinese medicine, the principles of yin-yang, and the flow of Qi through the meridian system. In one concentrated block, it provides a comprehensive theoretical overview combined with rich practical experience.
The seminar allows ample time for an in-depth exploration of the theory and application of Chinese medicine principles, Qi Gong, and Taoist philosophy within the profession of a dancer or actor (mover) – with an emphasis on health-related aspects. It focuses on developing an understanding of the human body and psyche, as well as on systematic work with Qi.
This work also opens the door to discovering a new movement vocabulary and enhances creative potential rooted in the principles of Chinese medicine, guiding participants toward authentic and healing movement.
Structure of the seminar includes:
- Morning Qi Gong focusing on the specific phase (element), its associated organs, and meridians.
- Theoretical introduction to the given phase (element) with an explanation of its qualities and manifestations in the body and life.
- Improvisations connected to working with body structures characteristic of each element (e.g., bones for winter/water, tendons for spring/wood, blood vessels for summer/fire, muscles for late summer/earth, and skin for autumn/metal).
- Working with the qualitative principles of the given phase in movement – how to perceive them sensitively and integrate them.
- Discovering a creative movement vocabulary based on the principles of Chinese medicine.
- Theoretical knowledge about relevant meridians, their functions, and their health significance.
- Practical work with meridians through movement improvisation and Qi Gong.
- Group discussions.
- Practice of related topics, such as moxibustion or specific techniques (e.g., “garlic snake”).
- Basics of dietary theory and seasonal recommendations according to the five phases.
Duration: 6–8 hours per day, by agreement.

Body Awakeness_Intensive
A 5–7 day intensive seminar, suitable for educational institutions and professional or amateur dance and theatre ensembles. It deepens the experience of the body through conscious movement and work with Qi. This extended format of the standard weekend Body Awakeness workshop allows for longer and deeper immersion, enabling a comprehensive exploration of body, mind, and movement.
The seminar is a space to discover your body through movement performed with a conscious, mindful mind. A key aspect is working with the present moment, where the embodied mind allows for full integration of body and awareness. Through inner experiences, we reveal the body’s deep intelligence, its subatomic physics, and movement logic, exploring the connection between Western anatomy and Eastern energetic anatomy. It is Qi Gong – or Nei Gong (internal work) – applied to dance.
Possible topics to include:
- Living Spine: Detailed work with the spine, its movement possibilities, energy currents, and pain relief.
- Breathing Bones: Understanding the skeletal structure and its energetic power, supporting bone strength and flexibility through Qi Gong and dance.
- Fluid Joints: Revitalising joint mobility and connecting it with the energetic and mental aspects of health.
- Happy Psoas: Work with the deep psoas muscle, its emotional and physical functions, and its connection to the lower tan tien.
- The Key in the Collarbone: Activating the shoulder girdle and collarbones as an energetic bridge between arms, spine, and organs.
- Meridians in Motion: Conscious work with energy pathways (meridians) through movement, Qi Gong, and improvisation for health and vitality.
